My name is Caroline Crane Litkenhous. I am related to the Fountains on my mother's mother's side of the family. My gr-grandmother, Minnie May Martin, was the second wife of Jason C. Fountain. His first wife was Rebecca Holland, she had three daughters and a son Homer, but he died about a year after birth. My gr-grandmother also produced all girls so the name did not survive but the family love and pride did. A few years ago I ran across the story of the Hugenouts of St.Lo, Normandy. Now I am trying to trace the bloodlines back. I don't know if Nicholas first settled in MD. and then moved to NC, but I do know James Fountain and his wife came to IN by the Wilderness Road when the territory wasn't officially open.
