I have 2-23-1846 at St. David's in Yamaska, Quebec. I believe this is correct. However, I met someone who claims that an Antoine Godefroid married Marguerite Chapdelaine on that date and that place and that he got it straight from St. David's church records. Can someone give me this wedding affirmation from a reliable record? I would like to forward it to him. Judith : )>> I have: Godefroy (AKA Godefroid) Siméon Fontaine Sr. m. 23-Feb-1846 Saint-David, Yamaska, QC Marguerite Chapdeleine dit Valérien Unfortunately, I don't have the source, so it could be wrong, as you stated. We have the eldest child, Godefroy Siméon Fontaine Jr. being baptised 17-Sep-1846 in Saint-Michel, Yamaska, Yamaska, QC. He died in Winnipeg, MB. The family lived in NH for a time. Some children stayed in NH, some MA, and some RI. I have notes saying Godefroy Siméon Fontaine Sr. was in Hamstead, Rockingham, NH in 1880 NH Census. He later moved to Argile, MN. Also there is a Godfroid Fontaine in the NH Deaths that died Aug-1919. Not sure if this is him.
