    3. Pat, the Thin Man is funny. :-) there's a mystery, but lots of witty dry humor. :-) Sooo good~! It's not dark at all. Do you remember the Philadelphia Story? (Jimmy was in that too) :-) It's kind of like that with lots of snap, but Nick Charles is a P.I. , recently married to a wealthy socialite, Nora. they have a little dog named Asta. One of my favorite scenes is Christmas morning. Nick had been shot in an uncomfortable place, and was laying on the couch, playing with his Christmas gift. ( a pop gun from Nora) <G> She is reading the newspaper accounts of the shooting. She mentions that it stated he was shot twice in the tabloids, and his reply was, "he didn't come anywhere near my tabloids". LOL~! :-) The Glenn Miller story is great. Haven't seen it in a long time. Used to watch more movies...... <LOL> :-) kath > Thanks Kath and Patti~! For some reason I thought the Thin Man was a series > instead of a movie. 2. Thanks Kath and Patti~! For some reason I thought the Thin Man was a series instead of a movie. For some reason I've never been big on bad guy movies though. I recently bought The Glenn Miller Story with Jimmy and really enjoy it. pat :@) It was the Thin Man Pat. He was just a youngster in it. 2. Google is a really good search engine. Frankly, if we could have only one search engine, it would have to be Google. To make Google even more readily available, you can put the Google search bar right into your Microsoft Internet Explorer toolbar. Just go to the Google site and click "All about Google." Now, click "Other ways to Google." Next, click "Google Toolbar," and then click "'I want the Google Toolbar" and go from there. Click here to go to Google! http://www.google.com

    1. [FOLKLORE FAMILY] Stomach Reduction Surgery
    2. Kath
    3. Wow~! kath Everybody Health Centres http://www.everybody.co.nz/research/weight_stomachsurg.html Surgery to reduce stomach size urged for very obese people A Swedish study has found stomach reduction surgery can produce good results in the very obese. People who underwent this type of surgery had improved quality of life, stabilised type 2 diabetes, controlled BP and less health service costs. They also had lowered lipids, better sleep, fewer joint problems, and reduced reflux, incontinence and asthma. The risk of dying from surgery is low, about 1 in 600, and 93 per cent have no postoperative problems. The latest surgical techniques use gastric bands which result in about 60 per cent loss of excess weight and maintenance of weight loss long-term. Prejudice against surgery for morbid obesity needs to be addressed before these procedures can deliver better results, the researchers said. Baxter J. BMJ 321:523-4, 2 Sep 2000
