I am Craig Kanalley, great-great-great-grandson of Rose Flynn Kennelly. Here's how it goes. My grandfather was Kenneth Kanalley. My great-grandfather was Wallace Kanalley. Wallace James Kanalley was born in 1902 in Cleveland, Ohio to James Bernard Kanalley & Mary Ann Wallace. James Bernard Kanalley was born on May 15, 1868 in Cobourg, Ontario to Thomas Kennelly & Rose Flynn. Thomas Kennelly came from Co Limerick Ireland to Canada in 1849. In Cobourg he met Rose Flynn, and they were married at the Catholic Church in Cobourg in 1852. Here's everything I know about Rose... Born (abt.) March 8, 1831 in Ireland Immigrated 1850 from Ireland to Canada w/ brother Jeremiah Married Nov. 26, 1852 St. Michael's in Cobourg Died June 16, 1902 in Cobourg from sudden heart failure She was a well-known, well-respected woman of Cobourg, according to her death notice, which appeared in the Cobourg Star Newspaper. As far as her birthdate goes, I use several sources... How old was Rose? 1861 Census - age 30 (born 1831) 1871 Census - age 40 (born 1831) 1881 Census - age 45 (born 1836) 1891 Census - age 60 (born 1831) 1901 Census - age 69 - born Mar. 8, 1831 Death Certificate - age 70 (born 1832) So it is fairly consistent in records. Now, for Jeremiah... Born 1823 in Co Kerry, Ireland [the county in Ireland coming from his death notice] Died Oct. 15, 1870 in Cobourg He and his wife Catherine had the following children: Bridget 1856, John 1858, Elizabeth (abt 1860), Daniel 1862, Catherine 1865, & James 1868. Elizabeth died in 1866 in Cobourg. I know nothing more about the children or Jeremiah. And I am hoping you can help me find more. I am particularly interested in finding the parents of Rose & Jeremiah...and where exactly in Co Kerry they were from. Unfortunately I have no pictures of Rose or the Flynn relatives.
