The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 28, in Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 29, at 1 p.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church, 900 Honeysuckle, Olathe. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be given to St. Paul's Catholic School. She was born on December 13, 1899, in Humboldt, KS, to Emilie and James Flynn. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1917, and from the University of Kansas in 1921, with a B.A. in Education and History. Frances married John F. Koppers on June 9, 1928. Prior to her marriage, she taught primary grades in Coffeyville, Humboldt, Topeka and also Notre Dame de Sion in both Marshall, MO, and Kansas City, MO. Frances and John moved to the Olathe area in 1946, where she taug! ht second grade at St. Paul's Catholic School for 16 years, retiring in 1971. She is survived by her daughters, Louise Stewart, Garnett, KS, and Judith Janes, Kansas City, MO; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1983; and her daughter, Connie Alberty, in 2000; her sisters, Bertha Pharis and Pauline Flynn; and her brother, Justin Flynn.
