HOW LESLIE FLYNN WAS KILLED in a letter from regan newberry, quincy, ,california to his parents mr and mrs j. m. newberry of neodesha, kansas, he gives an acccount of the fatal accident of his uncle.leslie b flynn which we give below;. "we were working about 35 feet up in the air on the first deck of the bridge when leslie called for a nail from above, on the second deck. he took a step backward and missed the gangplank and fell, turning over in the air. abiut 3 feet from the bottom his head hit a brace and a a result it broke his skull all the way around. his neck and right leg were broken. his broken skull caused a hemorrhage of the brain and he bled from his eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. i was only 6 or 8 feet from him when he hit the rock- he never spoke another word as he died instantly. another carpenter and myself made a stretcher and carried him to the road. we then put a blanket over him and took him 11 miles to the nearest dr who pronounced him dead.
