I have found the Flynn name to be difficult to search because the names are much the same in every family.

I'm not sure what area they might have gone to. There are Flynn's, Finnegan's and Golden's in Holland, Brown Co., but I'm guessing that they might be my Flynn's. This whole idea of them being in WI at all, is strictly a gut feeling (isn't that really scientific!), so I'm really at a loss as to where to start. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Kathy

The names I can verify are: Ellen Flynn married John Rafferty, Margarite Flynn married Erastus Maxwell and Catharina Flynn married Edward O'Brien, Mary Flynn married Charles Linden. The name Merchant Meade (or the other way around) was told to me by my aunt many years ago. I have not found Meade in any census years. Where in WI were your Flynn's living? Mine were in Sheboygan and Calumet County until sometine after 1870. In the 1880 census Patrick is missing but Mary Flinn and the children are in Prairie Farm Barron County. Patrick died in 1891 in Dallas, Barron County, WI.
> > >I have not been receiving my mail either > Well, this morning was the first morning that I didn't receive tons of AOL bounces. Some of you still remain on the list because of the strange way the bounces came, with a list of names, not individual, and the Rootsweb computer only counted the top name. However, AOL subbers did not receive RW mail for five days, not because of the Windows interface but because of the AOL anti-spam program. I noticed this morning, on the RW Help Desk that AOL has resolved the problem and now all the AOL subbers are finally receiving RW mail. Welcome back, we missed you. You can catch up with your mail by checking the list's archives. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA, listowner http://www.connorsgenealogy.com Professional Genealogy Research All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002

Catherine Margaret Flynn, born in PA, married a good Irish boy, Michael Hennessey, on 11 JUN 1881, in Houston County, MN. They had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hennessey, on 7 JAN 1884 in Winnebago, Houston, MN. I don't know Catherine Margaret Flynn's age, but if she was married in 1881, she would have been about the right age to be a daughter of Michael and Catherine Flynn.

My Flynn's married into Finnegan's and think my Finnegan came from a marriage to Golden's. How's that for convoluted thinking!! There seems to have been a whole lot of Finnegan's, Golden's and Flynn's that ended up in WI, which fall into my timeframe (late 1700's on). So was wondering if some of my Flynn's followed the Finnegan's and Golden's. My other Flynn's went from Sligo to upper state NY and some ended up in NE. First names in the Flynn family (you will notice a lack of "naming creativity" here) are: John James Patrick Thomas Martin Charles Andrew Henry Joseph William I'll keep my fingers crossed that some of this rings a bell with someone. From the Rootsweb Help Desk... 2004-01-28 AOL is still blocking RootsWeb mail. We have contacted AOL and are working with them to resolve the problem. In the meantime, AOL users can read list mail through the archives at: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ My comments: AOL users might want to call AOL and issue a complaint since this has been going on since Monday without any resolution of the problem. While the AOL users are not getting their mail, most haven't been dropped due to the way AOL is bouncing the mail and can post to the list. However, as time goes on all will eventually be dropped if AOL doesn't stop bouncing Rootsweb mail. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA, listowner http://www.connorsgenealogy.com Professional Genealogy Research All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002
