Was Robert's mother named Mariah or Marian? I ask this since I was told Robert's middle name was Marian. Did you ever hear ANYTHING about Robert's wife, Gertrude Scott? You would think I would be able to easily find information on my own grandmother but she is a total enigma. Since she died when my mom was only around 2 years old and her stepmother did everything in her power to erase any and every memory of her mother, there is nothing I can find that even verifies she ever lived! Only one picture of her survived and I have a copy of it. It was taken just shortly before her death. One thing that really puzzles me is, when my grandmother died and was buried in Live Oak Cemetery, we often visited her gravesite when I was a child. A temporary marker was placed on her grave and a permanent one never replaced it...HOWEVER...the funeral home should have a record of where her grave is. There is absolutely no record of her being buried there...but she is! Why doesn't the funeral home have some kind of record? They have a plat of all the gravesites and there is absolutely no record of hers. My granddad, A. D. Gaskins, is also buried there...his gravesite is marked on the plat but they can't find the grave when we have searched for it. Most peculiar! Virginia
