I have been told they lived in Lake City, SC...and Hamilton MAY have been a school "professor" or teacher. You say you live near where your great-grandfather is buried...is this in South Carolina? If it is in the Lake City/Kingstree/Florence area and there are Gaskins there, there is an excellent chance they are related to me some way. My grandfather, Arlington Dillon Gaskins, was from a large family and they ended up scattered all over South Carolina. I have a copy of a book researched and written by Jason Cockfield a couple of years ago which covers the Gaskins and their ancestors through 10 generations...starting with James Bigham of South Carolina's Pee Dee region. It covers the years 1773 through 1999. Virginia
