    3. For Edith Aden, in reply to your "Looking for Lees." Have you looked for them over in Madison County. There is a wide place in the road named Lee, Florida and no doubt it got its name from the Lee people. Recently, my wife and I visited the Suwannee State Park and passed by Lee, FL. My wife's grandparents had lived there at one time in the early 1900's and we have a letter sent from Miami to Lee, FL. I also made a short visit to the Suwannee County Genealogical Society's Library in Live Oak. The President was "library sitting" that day and was so nice and helpful to me and I have heard many good comments about their collection and can vouch for them. I am sending soon three files containing my wife's CHESHIRE, CUSHMAN and WRIGHT Families who were were residents of Suwannee for many years from the early 1900s to around 1950s. By the way, I am researching the Rev. Allen Cicero Nelson line. If anyone can help please contact me. Thanks, S. M. 3. Posted on: Suwannee Co. Fl Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Fl/Suwannee/550 Surname: McCook, Harrell, Rogers, Rodgers, Dempsey, Wood, Dorman, Davenport, Leggett, Phillips, Cannon ------------------------- I began my family history research in Suwannee County, Florida as that is where my father was born and raised. My father's mother was Ollie Elizabeth Rodgers McCook and her mother was Dilla Ann Dempsey Rodgers (1872-1937). My great great grandfather was Andrew Jackson Dempsey (1839-1912). He married Martha Elizabeth Dorman. I have gotten quite a bit of info on my Dempsey line from contact with new 'cousins' I have found during my research. I would be happy to share this info. I would like to find more info on the Dorman line as I have nothing there. 2. Craig and Allison
    3. Hi Everyone I am looking for my Grandfather, who I never knew. He died when my father was about 10 years old, about 1937. I also don't know to much about him. His name was Joe M Rawls and was married to Bessie(Vyhnalek) with a son born in 1927 named Arthur Burbank Rawls. My grandfather Joe was born in Michigan and married and came to Florida. My grandmother, Bessie was left with an only child when he died. She moved to Ill, for awhile and returned later with her son. She then worked at the Dowling Park Advent Christian Home and lived their too. Later as her health failed her she became a patient there. She died in 1989, and now I am left trying to find some connection to my past with no one to ask. Please e-mail me with any info you may have or anyway I could find out. I live in Michigan and am just beginning my search. Thanks for your time and hopefully your help. Allison (Rawls) Blonde

    3. I have been trying to connect William Williams (a cohort of William Cone) and Tom Williams to my family. I have an article that was the obit for Wiliam Cone that tellls a story of Him and William Williams being incarcinated in the Fort at St. Augustine. They were let out of their cells to play their fiddles for the Gov. of Carolina. They proceeded to get their keepers drunk, stole their horses and escaped. There is a note on the bottom of the copy from St. Aug. Hist Soc that states that William Williams was the ggrandfather of my aunt, Laura Hawkins. My grandmother, Victoria Metz, was the granddaughter of Tom Williams. Now, do I have you totally confused. I have quite a bit of infor on Williams but have been unable to document this. ----- Original Message ----- From: Brad Brannan <badbrad254@juno.com> To: <FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 07, 2000 9:37 AM Subject: Re: [FLSUWANN] Williams in Suwanee County > Dan, > My g-g'ma was a Williams from Suwannee, but I don't recall any > connection to Stockton.
