Hmmm.... I know Mathilda was born in 1848 in Lee, Florida, and married Jeptha Webb there. Eveline Peterson married Jeptha's brother, Levy, and had several children. You can find that at gencircles.com. This definitely bears investigating further. Thanks for your help. I'll let you know if I find anything further. My Grant and Parker ancestors also owned land in that area, (O'Brien)and some of the Sullivans married a Webb. I suggest we ponder and then pontificate. I'm not entirely sure what that means, but it sounds really cool ;>). >From: "Dale and Sherri Douglas" <dfdouglas@isgroup.net> >Reply-To: FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com >To: FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [FLSUWANN] New Boston >Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 19:10:39 -0400 > >I have run across Timothy and have often suspected that he is the brother >of >Albert but have not been able to prove it. I have run across Timothy and have often suspected that he is the brother of Albert but have not been able to prove it. They are from the same area and would fit the description on the 1830 and 1840 census. It has been speculated that their parents were Alfred and Tabitha Peterson. Alfred appears on the 1830 census and Tabitha appears with the children in 1840. From there, Albert appears on the census until 1870 and died in 1873. He served in the Civil War in the 3rd Fl Infantry, Company I. Albert voted in the first election of Florida and has been established as a Pioneer of Florida. His children were: First marriage to Rachel (?) Lucy b. 1846 William John b. January 9, 1849 Elizabeth b. 1853 James b. 1857 Second marriage to Louisa Victoria Bradley, Daughter of James Bradley and Keziah Clemmons. Moses b, Oct. 1, 1860 William Clifton ( my great great grandfather) b. November 9, 1866 Dorsey b. Oct. 1858 Archie b. April 1, 1870 Keziah b. abt. 1872 They lived North of Branford and also owned land south of present day Ivey Park. If any of this sounds familiar or if you come across anything you think may relate...I'm listening. Sharon: I believe there may be some confusion. Littleberry Parker and Starling Parker are from two different sets of Parkers. I am descended from Starling Parker through my grandmother (Taylor and Madison Counties), and Littleberry Parker through my grandfather (Suwannee and Lafayette Counties). Littleberry Parker is related to your John Parker through his daughter's marriage to Solomon Sullivan. Solomon's sister Civility married one of your Parkers. I believe Starling Parker to be related to John Parker as either father or brother. I have found nothing to indicate relation to Littleberry Parker (which is not to say he wasn't, I just haven't found it). Littleberry Parker's ancestry is as follows: Littleberry Parker, s/o William Hall Parker, RS and Nancy Walker no other info on William Hall Parker's parentage WHP is originally from Colleton SC, as are Isham and Littleberry Walker WHP settled in Liberty/Long counties GA, and is buried at Jones Creek Baptist Church. Nancy Walker is the d/o Littleberry Walker and Mary Ann Wilson Littleberry Walker, s/o Isham Walker, RS and Mary Carter, of the Virginia Carters (Shirley Plantation, etc.) Littleberry Walker first settled in Columbia County around 1826, and is buried at Smart Cemetary (now demolished). Littleberry Parker was the first Sheriff of Suwannee County after it was carved out of Columbia County in 1858. He died after having served a very short time in office (I think about two months). His son William G. Parker took over his duties as Sheriff and served as executor of his estate. Of his four sons, three were killed in the Civil War in the service of the CSA. The fourth, Richard, has not been mentioned since his marriage to Georgia Ann English in Gadsden Co. in 1851. I believe they had a daughter, Mary Jane, who is my gggrandmother (m. John Hewitt 1871). Others believe Mary Jane is the (possibly illegitimate) daughter of Littleberry Parker. She was born in 1854, and was raised by Nancy Jane Parker (Littleberry's daughter). I believe Richard and Georgia Ann died (family lore says MJ was an orphan), but I have no way to prove anything. If anyone has any info on this, please, PLEASE let me know! Whew. Talk about rambling. I sure hope I didn't confuse anybody. >From: "Sharon" <shadri@perry.gulfnet.com> >Reply-To: FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com >To: FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [FLSUWANN] Robinson >Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 18:29:19 -0400 > > >Sharon, Do you have a Aaron Dewitt Robinson who married Ella Victoria >Mikell? lil tommy< > >Hey Lil Tommy, > >It's good to hear from you again. I declare we dance all around each other with our names don't we? My mother has a brother named Dewitt Robinson. I checked and I don't have an Aaron Dewitt, nor a name that looks like it could match. Don't see a Mikell either. You mentioned the Parkers. Have you been able to connect to this other line of Parkers the Littleberry Parker, or Starling Parker I believe is the oldest known there? Marsha can correct me if I'm wrong. All these years that I have passed by information thinking there was no connection, I may have passed up something important! Can't stand the thoughts of it. Marsha, Are you a descendant of Albert Peterson? If so, you and I need to swap info. I have a lot of information on him and his family, he was my 3rd great grandfather. Doris - You can order his service record from the Florida Archives which may contain more information. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, but if you don't mind spending the money it may hold a wonderful surprise. We had always wanted to know the correct spelling of our Florida Pioneer but all records found he had signed using only initials. A cousin sent for one of his son's service records and in it was an affidavit signed by our Pioneer with his full first name. Great. Leslie >Thanks so much!!!. I am descended from Drury Clark through his daughter Cornelia. She married Macon (Make) Albritton, my ggrandfather. Drury Clark was a member of the infamous 2nd Calvary, US, Civil War, and a member of Strickland's band. >From: "Sharon" <shadri@perry.gulfnet.com> >Reply-To: FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com >To: FLSUWANN-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [FLSUWANN] Clark >Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 11:00:38 -0400 > >Marsha wrote: >I am also descended from the Albrittons through my mother's side. Doris: You need to contact Kyle VanLandingham about him not being on the list. Kyle has all the info on the Cow Cavalry. His email is:kylesv@qwest.net I am very surprised that you did not find him on Kyle's website, I thought he had just about all of the men from that group. Leslie, Thanks so much!!!. All I have are his pension papers and this gives me so much more. I have a description of him now. I have an old picture of him taken around 1900 but it's not very good. If ever I can help you let me know. Thanks again. Doris Albritton Smith
Thanks, Louise. I've looked for John Gill in other lists. He definitely as in the Cow Cavalry as I have his pension papers so I don't know why he isn't on the lists. Gotta do something about That!!<G> Doris
Hi, I'm only related to the Albrittons from your list. Here are my families: ALBRITTON, BENNETT, CONE, GAY, GILL, GRIFFIN, SHEPPARD, STRICKLAND, WHIDDEN, ALTMAN and many other associated families. Which line of Albrittons are you connected to? Doris Albritton Smith Incidentally speaking of the soldiers, my Whidden ancestors in Florida were on the UNION side. What a surprise to me when I found out.

Doris - You didn't ask for what was in the books "Biographical Notes...." and wasn't sure you had it or not,but here is what it says: Tenth Florida Infantry, Company C: Gill, John Robert (b 2/26/42 Baker Co, GA; m. Nellie Benham 3/13/1916; d 3/6/1922 Hillsborough Co., buried M. E. Church Cemetery, Fort Green, HardeeCo.) enlisted 8/15/61 at Lower Bluff. He was admitted 9/21/64 to Howard's Grove Hospital, Richmond and furloughed to Columbus 11/7/64. He was 5'6", florid skin, blue eyes, light hair. He was still absent on the last roll and was paroled 5/20/65 at Madison. In his Florida pension application, he claimed to have been wounded in the left arm at Olustee and was wounded again (the gunshort broke his right leg) in April 1865 on the Petersburg line. He received a Florida pension after the war. In the footnotes is this: CSR says John Gill (b 1821) {I have no idea what CSR is - but assume Confederate Service Record} This is not Munnerlyn's Cow Cavalry - that is covered in another one of the books. Leslie
