I SEE THAT SWANNEE COUNTY IS REALLY GETTING WITH IT. I THINK I MIGHT BE GETTING MYSELF IN TROUBLE BUT HERE GOES. I HAVE BEEN DOING GENEALOGY IN SWANNEE COUNTY FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS, THE NAMES I HAVE IN MY FILE ARE; STEWART, BRYAN, ALBRITTON, NEWLAN, NEWLAND, SCOTT, CARMICHEAL, WHEN CONTACTING ME, PLEASE INCLUDE THE BIRTH YEAR, AS I HAVE MANY WITH THE SAME FIRST NAMES. ALSO PLEASE BE PATEINT AS I AM SOMETIMES SLOW TO ANSWER. DAVE HAUSE
Dear List, I forgot to list a surname I am having trouble finding anyone who is looking for NELSONS in Suwannee County. I am tracing Rev. Allen Cicero NELSON who married Nancy BEDENBAUGH. He was ordained at Mt. Olive Baptist Church located about 5 miles NE of Wellborn. I have the original ordination paper (hand written on lined tablet paper in pencil) that was signed by the Ordaining Counsel members. Need to know death date and burial of he and Nancy. She was the daughter of Rev. Simeon Wilson Bedenbaugh, founder of the oldest Lutheran Church (Bethlehem) located near Ellisville on Hwy 441 going to Lake City in Columbia County. Any takers for info exchange? BTW, I am in North Alabama. My wife was the Florida Cracker from Gainesville until I rescued her from the 'gators. We tree climbers can have fun too. I had a phone call from a young teenager from Montana this morning before I got out of bed. His question: "Am I kin to the Beals and Turners." "Do you have any books for sale." Never heard of his Beals and Turners and could not figure out why he called me. Wish I could have helped him! S. Nancy Summerlin married Arthur T. Albritton. She was the daughter of John Summerslin and Susannah Hagin(an) Nancy Albritton was the first wife of Washington Griffin. His second wife was her sister Samantha Albritton. I don't know of a Nancy Parker--so far. Washington Griffin was the younger brother of Lucina Griffin who was my grgrgrandmother. She narried Noah Samuel Albritton who was the son of Thomas Henry Albritton and Mary Ann (Polly) Strickland who was the cousin of Rhoda Strickland Parker who was Thomas Henry Albritton's second wife. Whew!!! Did you get all that? I have quite a lot of Albritton info for those who may be researching that line. Doris Albritton Smith
Does anyone know if the Nancy who married Arthur Thomas Albritton was a Parker or an Albritton - the child of Rhoda Strickland's first or second marriage? Leslie

You're very welcome. I'll let you know if I find anything. Have you tried the Huxford Genealogical Library or site? There are LOTS of links there. The address is www.huxford.com. What is your Whidden connection? I am descended from William R Whidden and his first wife Martha Emily Bridges. He remarried after her death and had several more children, some of whom ended up in Suwannee County. Thank you Marsha. Sounds like these Parkers might be related to my Henry Co. Al Parkers. William, Walter. Miles and of course Nancy Jane is very common in that family. You have Littleberry and we have Salathiel. These Parkers are something. My Amanda Parker Bass was a daughter of Caleb and Elizabeth Parker. She married N. W. Bass 1867 in Sumter Co. Ga. Winnette
Hi Elaine, I believe that Jeptha Webb is the son of Levy and Emeline Peterson Webb, which would make him nephew to my ancestor Jeptha Webb. I believe my ancestor is buried at Midway, also, along with his father, Thomas Peter, and mother, Mary Sullivan Webb. How far away from the River is that? The Lawton Bryan Cemetery is on the edge of private pasture land, in Wellborn. I don't know of a list, but the ladies at Suwannee Valley Genealogical Society in Live Oak, might know more about whom may be buried there. Do you have an ancestor buried there? If I lived there, I would surely attempt to try and clean it up, but I'm way over here in South Mobile County, AL. The county prisoners cleaned it up a scant bit, but I don't think they ever finished. Let me know, and we will discuss more. Charlene =============== I have all four of the the Cemetery Books for Suwannee County but don't see this one listed. They are working on a new book that was looking like a great treasure on the way. Many long hours put into it for sure. The sweet ladies at the Suwannee Valley Genealogical Society Library said they had discovered many new cemeteries and bout the time they thought they had them all, low and behold someone discovered a new one out in some field or the woods. ;-) Sharon ============================== Search over 1 Billion names at Ancestry.com! http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist1.asp

You can also reach all the known cemeteries in Madison Co. from their web site. There is not a major search engine there but you can search rootsweb for the ones surveyed before 1990. Leslie
There is a Jeptha Webb (11/6/1877-10/29/1966) buried at Midway Cemetery south of Lee. His wife is Rebecker (3/2/1884-3/27/1918) also buried there. A son of your Jeptha, perhaps? I didn't see a Jeptha born in 1848 in my records - and I have most of the cemeteries in eastern Madison County in my database.
