The new home for the Pasco county mailing list has been set up. In a few minutes, I'll send out personal invitations to the subscribers of this list who wish to join the new group will be able to do so. I can not add members directly. It should be a link you can click that will let you 'accept' the invitation to join the new group. You may need to check your spam folder as I can't say when such will be delivered. If you don't find an invitation in your email you may also go to this site - https://groups.io/g/FL-PASCO and select Join Group. Of course, folks may still post to this list through 3/1. Tim Stowell
Lists that have been 'dead' for years on Rootsweb are already regenerating in this new location. Local lists to me are better than regional lists because regional lists often talk about things others have no interest in whereas local ones, people know the places of importance, even if not directly in their tree. Marrying a list with a local website - no matter what the genealogical outfit also helps both entities (the list and the website). A list may be considered old school not as fancy and in your face like Facebook or Google groups - but both have drawbacks. Google groups are often difficult to access for those without a Gmail account, Facebook groups lose the people that want nothing to do with it for privacy or personal preference reasons. Finally - hope springs eternal, that seeds planted will yield fruit. It just needs a little TLC. Edward Hiram GloverHello list- A researcher is looking to see if anyone can help her with her query below- Thanks for any help anyone has to offer on the subject. Peggy I am looking for information or an obituary for Edward Hiram Glover. I believe he was known by "Hiram". He was born in Michigan in 1856 and died in Florida on December 24, 1941. Census records indicate that he lived in Volusia (1920), Lake (1935) and Pasco (1940) counties. He was a photographer. He lived in Transylvania County in North Carolina from about 1900-1910 and took a lot of photographs here. I would like to have more information on him to include in an article about our local photographers. I have tried contacting libraries in these counties but have not had much success. They keep passing me on to someone else. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
