Surnames: Tisdale, Webb Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oZ.2ADI/248 Message Board Post: Emory Edgar Tisdale (1898 to 1952) of the Conecuh and Butler County area of South Alabama was residing in West Palm Beach, Florida when he died of a heart attack in August of 1952. Emory was buried in a family plot in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. His wife, Naomi Webb Tisdale, was expecting their first child, a girl, at the time. The child would have been born in late 1952 or early 1953. Her father's family only saw her once when she was a very small girl and then lost touch over the years. It is assumed that Naomi remarried and probably remained in South Florida. The girl's first name is not yet known at this time or if she kept Tisdale as her last name. I know this is a real longshot, but does anyone have any knowledge of this family or this girl?

The only way I know for the two of you to connect is to write her. She is 85 years old and lives in Fellowship, Fl., just outside of Ocala. I have always thought that her story was fascinating and would love to put it all on paper one day. Did you have relatives or were you in the storm as well? My father inlaw, who is passed on now, told me stories about burying the dead in mass graves. He was a young man then. Write me back and let me know if you would like to still get in touch with her. She and her entire family lived by hanging on to the tops of trees to keep from being swept away by the flood. Quite an interesting story. Debbie

    3. Chris, the much-touted 1930 is not readily available to everyone yet. The closest library to WPB that has it is in Atlanta, a 12 hour drive from here. However, send me the addresses you have. I'll see if there's any information in the W. Palm Beach city directories that might be of use to you. They remained (apart from one who got married and moved to NC in 1972) until they died, I believe all by about 1975. None of them had children. I have several addresses in West Palm Beach from my mother's and grandmother's address book. I would appreciate any advice on how to find out more about them, ie the 1930 Census. Thanks for any help.
