    3. Hi Linda, Yes, that's the man. My friend in France already has that info. In 1936 he was listed as living at 123 Rosemary Ave. West Palm Beach. What I'm trying to do is see if we can find out if he was in Florida in 1925 when the census was taken. We want to find out if he was married and had a family. If so, my friend will want to try to contact them. George Olsson was born in 1903 in Sweden and left there in 1923 with a destination we only know of, so far, as the U.S. Thanks. best, Al Johnson Linda Montanaro wrote: > Since you did not give an age, is this the George Olsson? > FL 263-05-8243 Olsson George 08/25/1903 01/00/1970 NY 10010 NY New York > What is the purpose of finding him on the 1936 City Directory of FL? > Alvie L. 3. Hi I just joined this list. My name is Al Johnson and I'm trying to help someone in France with his U.S. research. He had a great uncle living and working in West Palm Beach in 1936. I told him about city directories and suggested I try to help him with requests and such. To that end, does anyone on the list have access to city directories for West Palm Beach for the years around 1936? If so, I'm sure he will appreciate very much getting a look up there. The person in question is: George William OLSSON, born 1903 Stockholm, Sweden He lived in Florida in 1936. His address according to Social Security, in 1936, was 123 Rosemary Ave. West Palm Beach, FL. And, again, according to Social Security he was working at the: Palme or Palm Restaurant 341 Clematis St. West Palm Beach, FL. If anyone can help or offer some advice for searching in that area, from here in Rhode Island, please write. And please cc: to jean-marc whose email address also appears in the header. Thank you very much. And let me know if I can help with research up here. best, Al Johnson

    1. [FLPALMBE] Obits/Death records for 1906
    2. Can anyone direct me on where to find obituaries or death records/certificates for a death in approx. 1906 in West Palm Beach (Pioneer Park area)? My ancestor is buried under the Norton Gallery of Art, and they are, at best, giving us the run-around. Some old newspaper articles have been more helpful, but I really need to pinpoint an exact date and burial information. Thanks much, Judy

    2. I'm copying the Dade Co. list since this area was considered Dade Co. at the time of my family members' deaths. My ggggrandparents were buried in the location where the Norton Gallery now stands. When the bodies were moved across the street to Woodlawn, there were 18 which remained, because the families were "unlocatable." They just built the Norton right over top the existing gravesites. Since then, the gallery has been annexed, and I tried to gain access to the family graves, and was told that all but 3 have been built over. Does anyone have any info on the old Pioneer Park cemetery or where I could obtain a list of burials there and/or Woodlawn in downtown West Palm Beach? Thanks, Judy Uplinger Brannon

    3. If you check with the SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX (SSDI) - available in many locales on the net - it should have him in there = and will give you his birthdate as well. If you write a letter to Soc. Sec. - you can receive data from his registration card - which should show his parents, their nationality, etc. GOOD place to start. If ya need more help - hollar. 3. Hello, I am new to your list. I live in Ohio. The person I am searching for is not to far back in time. But he is my only missing link to my Dad's Family Tree. I wouldn't think he would be to hard to track down if I was in Flordia. However I am not. My Uncle PRENTIS ARDEN ANTHONY use to own The Heart of Palm Beach Hotel. I don't think he ever had any children. His wife's name was MILDRED MARIE WISHART. I do have a letter he sent my brother in 1963, so I do know that he died well after that. I have no birthdate nor death date. Those I would like to find out. And to find an obit would be the cream in my tea. Any suggestions or if any one knew of him. I have no family left to ask. 3. Hi, Thought you might be interested in this article. Chip Davis, the list owner, manages to keep a very pleasant, conversational style going on this list and it's extremely active. Good luck, Bill Hunter -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Fair Warning from Chip Resent-Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2000 08:55:50 -0800 (PST) Resent-From: TNUNION-L@rootsweb.com Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2000 11:55:12 EST From: Thagamizer@aol.com Reply-To: TNUNION-L@rootsweb.com To: TNUNION-L@rootsweb.com Okay get your e-mail boxes cleaned out. We got tons of new subscribers over the Christmas and first of the year holidays. These generally are caused by people getting new computers. But this also means that several of them may be looking at the same families. Maybe even the same as some of you. Next week I'm going to ask all list member who want to, to list the names of the families they are researching. With the number of subscribers we are getting now it should be many e-mails. To the new members: Jump into any discussion we have on this list. We're unlike other lists you may have belonged to. We're not uppity or anything. We're just downhome country folk researching our history. Our history sometimes contains recipes and rememberances. We're not one of those lists that subscribe to the theory that you have to stay totally on topic. Moon Pies and RC's, ghosts, old stories, and anything else may pop up. So everyone get your e-mails ready and next week start sending them. Tell the list who you are looking for. Surnames and anything else you might like to find. Maybe it's people or maybe it's places. And watch for the first scheduled chat session this coming month, in our new chatroom. Chip
