I am researching the Floyds of Amherst VA. I am currently working on finding out more about a Sam or Samuel Floyd who married Eliza Hartless. They are listed in the 1850 Census at Amherst with 5 children including 1 Samuel (Jr.) 2. Julia A. 3. John 4. Andrew 5. Cochilla (or possibly Johanna) Their 6th child wasn't born until 1852 and his name was Benjamin. I am descended from Benjamin who married Judith C. Gilbert.
