Hi, My ancestor Nathaniel Floyd sold his son Andrew Floyd land that was in Sumter District, SC in 1854. Nathaniel Floyd (signed JR) to Andrew Floyd, Sumter District, Conveyances P, p. 129-130 "Know all men by these present that I Nathaniel Floyd of the state of South Carolina planter of the same for the consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars or less one dollar per acre of Andrew Floyd my son..." The location being "situated between Camp Branch and Kingstree swamp waters of Black River in Sumter District". I believe this land is in Williamsburg Co now. The deed also includes this tidbit to question how the Fulwoods are related "I do hereby bound my self my heirs and my executors and administrators to warrant and surety these acres originally granted to Robert Fullwood AD 179_ (of the which land there is a regular chain of title to Nathaniel Floyd Sen)" Ms. Eaddy's transcription of the Williamsburg Deed Book C offers a clue but the handwriting was illegible so she wasn't sure of the initials. Should this M be a N for Nathaniel? Williamsburg Deed Book C, p 408, recorded 1 March 1830 "M. (W?) J. Floyd and Elizabeth A. K. Floyd to Harper Johnson. Sumter District. J. M. J. Floyd and his wife Elizabeth formerly Elizabeth A. K. Fulwood for $15 paid by Harper Johnson release their right to a plantation that was sold by William Smith to Sarah Fulwood who is the present wife of said Harper Johnson, in 1810, and sold by Harper Johnson to Daniel McKenzie in 1819 and the said M. J. Floyd and Elizabeth A. K. Floyd 28 Jan 1830.
