Hello, do I need help or do I need help. My gggrandmother,Margaret Jeanette Floyd, was b. 1830 (SC per census) and d. late 1800s in Choctaw Co. AL. She married Samuel Pilot (SC per census) 1/1846 in Barbour Co. AL. Samuel was b. 1818 and died 10/31/1884) Samuel bought land in Barbour in 1858 and bought land in Choctaw Co in 1860. Cannot located parents of either Margaret or Samuel and the 1846 date is the first time that we can locate either one of them. Family lore is that Margaret had a brother named Stephen that died in the CW and two sisters with red hair that married brothers. (Hunt is the possible surname for the brothers and the two couples may have moved to Florida). There was also a brother that worked for a newspaper (where??). Per LDS site there was a man named William Allen Floyd from Darlington SC that had a son named William Michael Floyd and a daughter that was named Margaret. William Michael Floyd is in the 1860 and 1870 census of Barbour Co. William Allen Floyd died abt 1870s in Barbour Co. There is also a Stephen Floyd in the 1860 Barbour Co census. Michael was married several times and ultimately moved to and died in East Feliciana Parish, LA. William Allen Floyd moved from Darlington after 1830 and was in the Twiggs Co, GA census of 1840. His siblings were Elisha, Elijah, Juliann Floyd Putnall, and (female) Floyd Stokes. Margaret Jeanette Floyd Pilot's mother was a Stokes. If William Allen Floyd was her father, then he and his sister could have married into the same Stokes family. Any help with my Floyds would be greatly appreciated. Betsy Pylate Simpson
