My ggrandparents were listed on the 1900 census as living in Hillsborough County, Florida. Their names were Thomas Calvin and Annie E. Floyd (Arnold). They had five children, Nancy Ada, Jessie, Calhoun, William Eston, and Vivian. Occupation was listed as grocer. I know where all the children ended up except for Calhoun. He served in W.W.I but I don't know what happened to him after that except he returned to Hillsborough County. As for Thomas and Annie, I know they were married in Hernando County and all children were born there. Don't know when they moved to Hillsborough. Annie died sometime in 1901 but don't know when Thomas died. Any help would be appreciated. Janie Bartels
I am researching the Floyds of Amherst VA. I am currently working on finding out more about a Sam or Samuel Floyd who married Eliza Hartless. They are listed in the 1850 Census at Amherst with 5 children including 1 Samuel (Jr.) 2. Julia A. 3. John 4. Andrew 5. Cochilla (or possibly Johanna) Their 6th child wasn't born until 1852 and his name was Benjamin. I am descended from Benjamin who married Judith C. Gilbert. Does anyone have any information on this family? Thanks Troy Floyd - --------------------------------- Email : t-floyd@usa.net | | - --------------------------------- -------
Hello everyone! I'm new to this mailing list.. I'm researching my lineage in Amherst co. Virginia. I have found my g-g-grandfather to be Benjamin Floyd and he married Judith Gilbert. Benjamin was born on May 4, 1852 to Sam Floyd and Eliza Hartless. 1850 Census of Amherst lists Samuel age 80 Eliza age 34 Samuel Jr. 14 Julia A. 9 John 7 Andrew 5 Cochilla (or Johanna) 4 and of course Benjamin wasn't included in the 1850 Census I am trying to find out anything about Samuel and Eliza. I am currently putting everything I have on the computer and would gladly send a GEDCOM file. Thanks Troy Floyd - --------------------------------- Email : t-floyd@usa.net | | - --------------------------------- -------
I'm trying to find the descendents of Joseph Clinton Floyd (b.1863) and Mary Nora Combs (b.1870). They were from AR but I think their kids ended up in OK. They had 4 children: 1. George Floyd who married "Minnie". He was the president of the Haskell Bank in Haskell, OK. Minnie moved to Tulsa after his death. 2. James Floyd who married Francis. He might have been a law officer in Meridian, MS. 3. Mary Sue Floyd (1897-1981) who married Raymond Coughlin. She worked as a seamstress and is buried in Madison Co., TX next to her brother. 4. Ralph Hendrix Floyd, Sr.(1908-1987) who is my Grandfather. He married Eulalia Florence Noll, divorced, and married Earlene McWhorter. He worked in the newspaper business. He is buried in Madison Co., TX I'm looking for any descendents of these 4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You! Suzette May deslmay@n-link.com
