For the new one's on this list and other's who might not have seen it, I started putting Floyd Census information on my Web site a couple months ago. It will be a permament place to store this information and I am taking the privilege of using the info that has already been posted here the last few days and adding it to the Web Page. If there others that have Census information already on the Floyd's and would like it to be posted, please send it to me. I will need along with the Family info, the Family or Dwelling #'s, Page #'s and Twp's if available. You may go directly to the Floyd Census page by this URL http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~damon/floydcensus/fcensus.htm Or to the Home Page with URLlisted below in my signature. I have listed there all the CD's, books and other material I have to do look ups. Damon Floyd (Muncie, IN) damonf12@home.com Webb Page http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~damon/
Amos K. Floyd is my ggg grandfather. He was born in NC about 1815, moved to GA and died around 1900. He is buried at Empire, GA. According to his will dated 29 Sept 1898, his wife was Elizabeth. His children were Geo. Washington Floyd, Frederick Floyd, Arch Floyd, Shadrick (Shade) Floyd, Amos Floyd, John J. Floyd(my gg grandfather), Everette Floyd, Ann Floyd, Harriett Floyd. This is my line. Any corrections or info is welcome. If this helps someone else, fine. Glenn <ghitchcock@aol.com>
Has anyone ran across a family of brothers Newton, Samuel, Archie, Daniel and Charles Floyd. I found all of them but Charlie on the 1880 Denton Co., Texas census. No parents were listed but were said to be born in Kentucky. Newton was born in 1862 Missouri. He is the oldest. Necy Kensey was listed as his wife but b 1838 is 42 and has a daughter Molley Kinsey b 1867. Bobbi

Thanks for all the new posts. Maybe someone can help me. My gg grandfather was Seth Hampton (nickname Tucker) Floyd. Born in NE MS in 1863 to George W. Floyd and Sarah Briant (?). He was married to Georgia Floyd, daughter of David Floyd (from SC). Lived in Tippah/Prentiss/Tishomingo/Alcorn Counties. Does anyone have any info on George W. or David and their families? Thanks for any help. Larry
Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday... Sarah Floyd (birthdate unknown) married George Luther (b. 1838) in Randolph County, NC on July 25, 1858 I have had no luck connecting this Sarah Floyd to anyone. Again, all I know for sure, is according to Randolph County marriage records, Sarah Floyd married George Luther on July 25, 1858. Have a Great Day! Audrey
Hi Bill and others, Thanks so much for taking the initiative and posting the census records. I have just finished moving and my notes are buried in a box (along with alot of my other stuff). My ancestor is listed here >Floyd, O. Watts 35 M SC > Hanna A. 46 Wife SC > Elizabeth 11 Dau SC > Drucilla 10 Dau SC > Zyphona 9 Dau SC > Cornelius M. 8 Son SC > Leona 7 Dau SC This should be P(arthenius) Watts Floyd. His first wife was Martha (I think she's listed in the 1870 Williamsburg Co census.) Elizabeth and Druscilla (my great-grandmother) are listed in the 1870 census with both parents. Hanna A. was first married to Ebenezer(?) Powell. He was killed in the Civil War. She is listed with two girls in the 1870 census. One of her children is listed here with the wrong age. (NOTE: Two of his brothers served also but they returned home.) P Watts Floyd was in the Civil War also. I have his records. His first name is spelled several different ways in the military records so I've just guessed at the proper spelling. Druscilla married Francis Melton Powell (Yes, he was a nephew - by first marriage - to Hanna.) P Watts' father was Andrew Floyd in 1850 (Sumter Co ?) census and Andrew's father was Nathaniel Floyd (Sumter Co deed to land in Williamsburg Co). (NOTE: this land was once owned by a Robert Fullwood. I've been trying to find the connection to the Floyd family. I believe both of these families were in York Co at one time.) Without my notes, this is all I can tell you. Hopefully, I'll get settled soon. I have to work the next four days but maybe by next weekend, I'll be able to focus on posting what I have found. Merry (rlmsmith@flash.net) had written to ask me if the children of William Floyd and Unknown (Generation 1 in the info I sent) could have been born in VA and had a brother Samuel born 1737. That William Floyd WAS still in Goochland Co., VA, at that date and could have had another child or children. I only posted what was proven. My older sister is working on information which seems to point to the possibility that William's father was Edward Floyd who married abt 1713 in Henrico Co., VA, Michael/Myca Harris (who also married, apparently, John Burgany and Richard Parker). As yet, the information which she has gathered, though vast and thorough isn't "finished/concluded." We just don't know as of this date. I would love to see more family postings -- maybe we can tie some lines together. I've been sitting here, reading postings, but not adding my own, and it took Bill's notes, plus end of holidays, to motivate me.... Karen

Has anyone got any info on Elijah Floyd b: late 1700's in Northampton Co., NC and went to Twiggs Co., GA where he died. I could use any info on Elijah and his descendents. We need to get a little activity started on this list. Bill
To whom I sent the Floyd info to yesterday concerning a marriage to a Pilot/Pylate, I didn't hear anything back from you. Was it useful or not? Bill
List members, what do you think about the Floyds in different parts of the country copying the Floyds in the census and placing it on the list so that all may benefit by your work. I have a big portion of SC and some of NC copied and would like for us to do this. If you think it is a good idea just go ahead and start placing on the list and I will also. I am a little bit "gun-shy" since I have had several instances of when someone got what they wanted from me and then never did share anything with me and many times didn't even tell me "thank you." Think it Over,Bill
