Partilla or Partha (m) Floid born 1805 in GA on the 1850 and possibly the same on 1840 Decatur Co, TN census, with family. Any ideas as to a GA family he belongs to ? Also 1850 Decatur Co, TN, with Simeon Floid age 27 is Amy/Anny Floid age 50 born in GA. These are the closest clues I have as to perhaps families for my Agness. Any help appreciated. My Floyd is a mystery. Agness Greener according to a child's death certificate was a Floyd and according to a grandchild was also full blood Indian. Census and death certificate says she was born in GA. She was born Jan 1821 and was married by 1852 ( birth of 1st child) . The last child was born in 1864. All children according to census and death certificates were born in TN. Marriage date or place cannot be found. It is believed that the husband was Henry Andrew Greener ( or similar) a German. He returned to Germany and never came back or died in Civil War are the 2 family stories. The first time she and children are found is the 1870 census in Henderson Co, TN. She is a land owner. Purchase deed cannot be checked due to nonexistence, but she sells the land. There are so many Floyd families in GA I hardly know where to start. Any ideas or missing daughters of this age named Agness? Oldest son is named John with the 2nd named Andrew. Two daughters are Elizabeth Frances and Mary Frances. Thanks! Hi List--This article is found in the Longhunter Vol XIV a number of years back. The article is about Enoch Floyd of Warren Co KY and I quote the follwowing. "Enoch Floyd was born 29 Feb 1790 in Spartanburg Co. SC to Jonathan and Sallie (Gentry) Floyd. During the 1790's Jonathan moved family to Madison Co. KY. It was in Madison Co that Enoch married Susannah "Susan" Lee in 1809. She born 7 Feb 1793 in Charlotte Co, VA, the daughter of Frances Lee. y 1812 Enoch had migrated to Warren Co KY and his land holdings included land on the Green River, Ivy Creek and Indian Creek as well as a town lot in Bowling Green. For many years no family in the Anna and Sandhill Communities of Warren Co owned more land than did the heirs of Enoch Floyd. Two years prior to his death Enoch owned 600 acres of land, 18 horses as well as 80 head of cattle. Mr. Floyd was involved in civil and church activities of his day. He served as justice of the peace from his district in the 1830's an 40's. He was a member of the Ivy Baptist Church and served as a messenger from his church to the Green River Assoc in 1831,1833,1835-1836 and 1839-1845. His children were members of the Mt Pleasant Church of Christ (formed in 1838) and the land for that church building was donated by members of the Floyd family. At least eight children (perhaps others) were born to Enoch and Susannah: Ann D. b 10 Apr 1812 never married, Sarah b ca 1814 never married, Frances b 1821 married Bedford Isbell, Gideon b 28 May 1822 married Rhoda C Taylor & Margaret Swinney, William E b 7 Aug 1825 married Malvina Penner, Martia or Marsha Ann b 28 Jan 1828 married James W Taylor, Harriett b ca 1829 married Alexander Chapman Young, Richard D b 9 Jan 1831 married Nancy Hendricks. Our subject, Enoch Floyd, died 8 Sept 1846 and his wife died 28 March 1858. Both are buried in the Watt-Flora cemetery at Sandhill in Warren Co KY. " This article was submitted by Mr Raymer and to me supports the theory that this family came from SC to KY where land and tax records are found for them in these early years and that this Jonathan is the son of Enoch Floyd and Margaret Milton. Any discussion ?? I find several Enoch Floyd's which further complicates matters including, Enoch Floyd in 1763 Anson Co NC Enoch Floyd in 1820 Bedford Co TN Enoch Floyd in 1800 & 1830 Spartanburg Co SC If we are correct that the above Enoch is father of Jonathan did he move to KY also or remain in SC ? Also who is the father of this Enoch?? Any ideas? Sorry abt the long post but wanted to share this article. Ellen ( Floyd ) Howell

Hello fellow Floyd Listers I'm new to this list. Is it well used? My interest centres around my g grandmother's sister ALICE LIGHTFOOT who married JOHN FLOYD before WW1 in Warrington, England. They had two sons John and William ( Bill ) who emigrated to the United States sometime during the 1920's/ 1930s. Do these details ring a bell with anyone living in the US. Does anyone show a FLOYD marriage to Agnes BELL in or near Fairfield Co, SC in the 1700's? I'm trying to find info on her father George BELL and her sister Jane or Jean. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.
I am looking for family of Suzie Floyd, b. September 15, 1896. She is said to have a brother Lee, who was a decorated soldier in WW1. Suzie married Ben Hays and they had five children. The family lore is that Suzies 'official" birthday was 1896 MS, but she claimed she was really born in WV in 1892 and remembered traveling "out west" to LA and MS in a covered wagon. The suspicion is she did not have a birth certificate and her birth was re-registered in MS, so she could get into school. Can anyone relate to this? -- Rosie, IBSSG & TL Society Member. Visit Rosie's Site at: http://www.teleport.com/~sunkist/Index.htm Or Her ABWA site: http://www.teleport.com/~sunkist/Warbler.htm
I have a James Floyd b.1846, married to Janie Jones, b. 1871. They had several children, including my grandmother Suzanna "Susie" Floyd Hays. The other names are: Virdule, Gola, Ida, Jewel, and Lee. One of the Children was a Lee Floyd, reported as a decorated soldier during WW1. Can anyone share information on this? Thanks!

I can't remember if I sent this query to the list or not, sorry if I did. I am looking for information on William Floyd, b. in Georgia abt. 1802 according to the 1850 Mississippi Census for Choctaw County. He married Laura Ellen Williangham about 1836 possibly in Alabama. Her family (John & Rebecca Tyler/Taylor Willingham) were living in Montgomery County, Alabama about that time, I believe that they were living in Troup County, Georgia prior to the move. I believe that William died before 1860. Their oldest son John was born in Alabama abt. 1837/38. They moved to Oktibbeha County, Mississippi by 1840 as they are shown on the census there. The rest of their children were Rebecca, b. abt. 1840, Amanda Ellen, b. abt. 1841, Tyler/Taylor, b. abt. 1842, Nancy, b. abt. 1844, William, b. 11-7-1846, and Martha Jane, b. abt. 1849. I have hit a wall and any help would be greatly appreciated. Jesse Floyd
