Well...thank you all for the generous offers for your help of those who have the Pioneer of Wiregrass books....I will take u all up on ur offers.... :-) I would like to know how far back does the books go for the marriages and the deaths of the Hersey and the Hodges families? I am descended from Thomas Hersey (1802-1907).....and I am also descended from William Henry Hodges....Does these books have a marriage and a death index? Or what do they have? Do they carry obits? What info do they have? I am looking for actual births and deaths if they have them and marriages....Do the books go past 1900 for marriages in FL and GA? If they have any marriage dates or death dates etc...would love to have them. Grohol Jr Donnie Lee Hodges (oct 1, 1944) married Carroll Walter McPherson Jr Clifford Hodges(Feb 22, 1904-Dec 18, 1973 in Macclenny, FL) married Allie Hersey(Apr 11, 1911-Apr 1, 1975 in GA) Joshua Hodges(Jun 1866 in Charlton Co., GA-died before 1920)married Courtney Victoria Crews(Jul 6, 1870 inCharlton Co., GA-Dec 22, 1949 in Baker County, FL) Willis Aaron Hodges(Aug 1, 1812 in Tattnall Co., GA - Aug 16, 1886 in Moniac, Cahrlton Co., GA)married Mahalia Johns William Henry Hodges June 19, 1770 in Kinston, North Carolina -Aug 24, 1849 in Tattnall Co., GA) married Ann Blitch. That is my Hodges connection...here is my Hersey connection: Allie Hersey married Clifford Hodges(not sure when they married...maybe 1936 or so) Jacob E. Hersey(Jun 17, 1877 in Coffee Co, GA-11 Nov 1963 in Alachua Co., FL) married Margaret Hersey( 1884 in Ware County, GA -? her death date is in question) Jacob married three times after Margaret: he married a Mytrice Aldridge(married 03 Mar 1922), a Mary(1930) and Maude Futch(1940). Jacob's father was Elkanah George Washington Hersey(18 May 1831 in Appling Co., GA - 07 Jun 1883 in Coffee Co., GA) and mother was Charlotte Surrency(1837- not sure of death) Margaret's parents were: Enoch Marion Hersey( June 1848-not sure of death) and Mary Bagley(1843, not sure of death) Elkanah and Enoch's parents were Thomas Hersey and Rebecca Spivey. If anyone has any information on the above info that I have given and can add to it would be great. As you can see, I am also connected to the Bagley's, the Surrency's, also connected to the Davis', the Lotts, the Roberts and more. I would love to know actual birth and death dates.....and actual marriage dates. Any information would be great. Appreciate any help....
