I am currently working on a transcription of the 1900 Lee County census. This census lists the persons birthplace and the birthplace of their parents. I have come across two people who have their parents birthplace listed as "New Province". There is something written over the top of New Province which looks like VT on one, VI on one, and OT on two of them. I can't find New Province in any Atlas I've looked at, yet I'm sure that's what it says. Does anyone know where this is?
