Wilbert Cumbee (Combee) married the 2nd time Martha Whidden Brewer and had a slew of kids. Martha was the 1st cousin of my GG Gfather, John Whidden. Wilbert's oldest son, Hampton had two sons that married sisters, Narcissie and Emily Griffin. They were known by family as aunt Cissie and aunt Emmie. They were the sisters of my G Gfather Jesse M. Griffin and each of them had a son who married the sisters of my Gfather, A.D. Ellerbe. Bill Combee's son Dan married Donnie Ellerbe and Jim's son Thurel, married Myrtle Ellerbe. I would like to contact a family member that can help me with the members of this large family. I have some info but it is very sketchy. None of my cousins that I know in the Polk Co. area have done much genealogy and some just don't care. I have a lot of the Griffin family genealogy and will share with those interested.
