The family of one my ancestors was kidnapped from a farm near St Augustine in 1802 by Miccosukee Indians, who took the captives west to "near the Gulf of Mexico". They were ransomed in 1803, after one son had been scalped & a daughter impregnated by the medicine man. What would be the best source for finding out more about the Miccosukees? I have heard that there was a big enclave of them near Tallahassee & that they had slaves, although I do not know of what race. Thanks for you help! Peggy Munroe
