    3. Louise, It begins in 1877 and the first section covers 1877-1916; the second series is 1917-1922; thereafter, for a while, at least, it's year-by-year until much later. The holdings from 1877-1916 are not really numerous enough to get excited about, but--like all potential sources--should not be passed over. These records are not exhaustive; some people from the 1930s and '40s sometimes do not appear, and I'm certain that someone was missed earlier this year. It is also well to remember that death certificates are secondary records and full of "don't know's" as well as misinformation. I've seen only one in which the deceased was his own informant, and that was a special case....
