    3. Lynn, The State's Marriage and Divorce Index now covers 1877-1997? Did they say anything about that being a new range of coverage? Our library's set covers 1927-1991, and prior to that there was, according to what Vital Statistics has always told me (personally!), no central registration of those matters. If they didn't misstate, this is good news for everyone, as well as a real surprise to me. In fact, the BVS web site also says 9as of five minutes ago) that they have marriage and dissolution records from June of 1927, so I don't know where they'd get the fiche for the preceding fifty years. Did these folks give their names at the lecture?
