    3. John, not only would the PC archives want your material, but I'd appreciate permission to print some of it in the Putnam County Genealogical Society's QUARTERLY JOURNAL. "'ow 'bout it?" As to NUCMC (pronounced "nuck'- muck"), it is the NATIONAL UNION CATALOG OF MANUSCRIPT COLLECTIONS, and in my always humble opinion it is a wonder of the modern world. As you know, many times family letters, diaries, etc., end up hundreds or thousands of miles from the areas where they were created or to which they refer. NUCMC is a massive indexed (by name, location, etc.) catalog of where they went! There are hardcopy volumes (by year of accession/report) from 1959 to 1993. The years from roughly 1986 to date are accessible online through an electronic form linked to the NUCMC home page. There's an FAQ and even info to let you reach the team leader w/questions or problems. Point your browser to http://lcweb.loc.gov/coll/nucmc/nucmc.html And watch for an upcoming article by Sandra Luebking in the Federation of Genealogical Societies' excellent FORUM (an abbreviated version will be out in PCGSQJ later this year--I just can't share it yet). Since the printed volumes of NUCMC run about $110, look for this source in very large or university libraries. They may have some limited access to a CD-ROM version, too. After you try it, if you have questions, I'll TRY to answer them, but if I'm an expert on anything, it isn't NUCMC (beneficiary and admirer, yes; expert, no). Since you'll be at P.K. Yonge in May (I'll miss you--I'm speaking at NGS Richmond and then researching in AL and SC), you may want to know that NUCMC is alive and well and living in the same building in Gainesville. Ain't that niiiice? Enjoy! Hope this helps.... --Brian
