    3. Mr. Johnson, I don't know how this got sent out before it was finished, but I put it into the drafts box (I thought) and then it came right back on the list. In any case, I wonder if you would be kind enough to tell your members tonight of our workshop on May 8 with Sandra Luebking. here in Palatka. We're less than two hours from you (or were when I last spoke to your group, anyway), any we'd be happy to welcome any number of you from 'way up north in Nassau County! The information follows--Thanks! --Brian Michaels, PCGS Pres. * * * * * On Saturday, May 8, Sandra Hargreaves Luebking, author of Ancestry's classic genealogy text, The Source, and A Guide to the National Archives Field Branches, will be the speaker at an all-day Putnam County Genealogical Society Spring Workshop to be held in the St. James United Methodist Fellowship Hall on US 17 in downtown Palatka, Florida. Mrs. Luebking, a nationally known author and lecturer from the Chicago area, also edits The Forum, newsletter of the Federation of Genealogical Societies, and is a coordinator of the nationally known Samford University Institute of History and Genealogical Research in Birmingham, Alabama. Her topics will include: "JOURNEY INTO GENEALOGY"--an overview of how genealogists work--which will motivate beginners, revitalize the experienced, and intrigue newcomers interested in their family history. "FINDING FEMALES: GRANDMA, WHERE ARE YOU?" will focus on how to pursue the most elusive of our ancestors: the females. This session will introduce several search strategies, using 19th-century examples. "CIRCUMVENTING BLOCKED LINES" presents sure-fire search strategies for lines on which we have run into brick walls. "NAME THAT SOURCE" will present unusual and seldom-used sources for solving research problems and explain them in a quiz-show format, with contestants, prizes, and an emcee. A really unique presentation! SATURDAY, MAY 8, 1999: 8:30 a.m-4:00 p.m. > Lectures, vendors, doorprizes, and a catered luncheon for $30 registration if mailed by April 15 ($35 thereafter).
