    3. David Avant is a local historian in the Gadsden/Leon County area. My memory is a bit foggy now as whether it was him or another Avant, but in about 1977 I was privileged to make a guided visit to an Avant family homestead which is a log house that I believe was originally a stagecoach stop on the line you are referring to. It would seem probable that the Avants might be a source of information. I do not know how to contact him/them, but maybe someone else on the list does... (Peggy Munroe maybe?)
