    1. Re: death records
    2. Brenda, Consider this.......My sister died in FLorida in 1943 at the age of 8 months and I looked for many years for her death record. Her name was Dorothy YON. I was told repeatedly that there was nothing on file anywhere. About 4 years ago, I sat down at the library (determined to find something) and looked thru the index reading EVERY name listed. Well, guess what? YON had been misread and filed under YOU! Keep searching and Good Luck! My gggrandfather, Zeb R Jones died in Graceville, Jackson Co, FL on Nov 19, 1927 or 1928. I would have expected a death certificate. I checked the death index myself and did not find it. State of FL says there is none. Does anyone know if the vital stat office checks the certificates or just the index? Is there a reliable way to have them search the certificates?
