    3. Mary Ellen, actually, I haven't been asked that before,. When I ordered the "Florida Combined Death Index" for our local public library in Palatka, it was--I believe--something like $491, but don't quote me. That also included the marriage & marriage dissolution indexes (which begin in the mid-'20s--before that they're available only in the 67 courthouses). That was five or more years ago, so I would not presume to give a definitive answer as to availability or price. It was a fairly long hassle to get ours, as I recall. The folks at the Bureau of Vital Statistics, P.O. Box 210, Jacksonville, FL 32231 can answer your question with much more authority, so I'll refer you to them and wish you good luck! --Brian P.S.
