Hi Listers, I have what may be a bit of a "long shot" to ask of you. My father's eldest sister, HELOISE SCOTT-WILLIAMS left South Africa in the early 1930's for the U.S.A. She went via England, and the last the family heard from her was by post from Massachusetts. It is said she married in South Africa before she left to a Mc or Mac something, so she would not have arrived in the U.S. with the name Scott-Williams. She had a son with her, whether it was Mc-something's child or not, I am not sure. I recently searched the S.S.D.I. and came up with a HELOISE MCINNES. This woman has the correct birthdate, 12 JUNE 1897, and I must presume, because of the McInnes, that this may well be my missing Aunt. Heloise MnInnes died January 1973, in Miami, Dade County. There is also a reference number, 33138, with the address. Her Social Security number is 309-12-6976. Now, it isn't easy for me to send $7.00 to the Social Security Administration, as much as I would like to be able to. Can any of you advise me if there is another way of verifying whether this Heloise is the one I have been looking for over the last forty years? Who knows, maybe the S.S.A. accept credit cards!!
