    3. Liz, Oops! When my wife read my response to you (yesterday) and noted that I'd said we're 28 miles SE of St. Augustine, she observed that it would be rather a damp location.... And so it would! I think the one below is correct now. Putnam County is surrounded by Clay, St. Johns, Volusia, Marion, Alachua, and Bradford Counties. Palatka is on US 17 where it crosses the St. Johns River. It's 28 miles SW of St. Augustine, 55 miles S of Jacksonville, 55 miles NW of Daytona Beach, 44 miles E of Gainesville, 45 miles NE from Ocala.... We're in a triangle formed by Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Daytona Beach. We have a Holiday inn, a Best Western, the Minute Maid B&B recently seen in a national orange juice marketing contest, and other less-well-known accommodations. You can get here from practically anywhere by bus, boat, car, (small) plane, or train. We'd be happy to have you join us on May 8. If you've heard Sandy Luebking before, you know what a dynamo she is--and if you haven't, just trust me. Nora and I drove 100 miles to the Orlando area to see her again last winter. It was a genealogical treat! I can estimate hours if you'll let me know from where.... If you'd like a registration form just give me your snail address. Hope to see you here! -Brian ********************************************************** smithl@wfrpc.dst.fl.us wrote: > > So where is Putnam County? In miles and hours? > > Liz
