This is most likely an exercise in futility, but I have a great grandmother whom familylegend says was adopted as an infant. One of the stories is that she was adopted in Maine and taken to Monticello Florida by Levi Harris and Dorothy Bozeman Harris. She was born about 1832 as best we can determine. Her name was Tamzy Harris. I've been told that various Native American languages do not use Z's so might narrow it down that way. Of course I have no way of knowing if that was an Indian name or one given to her by the Harrises. If anyone has any clues as to tribe, nation, etc. I would love to hear them..Even if anyone finds a clue to Levi Harris in Maine, we are pretty sure he was in Florida by 1835. Thanks , Emma in NM
