I have tried without success to locate some sites which might give me information on an ancestor b. 1815 who was a lawyer and a physician. He practiced both successfully, then returned to the Methodist church as an itinerant preacher until his death. That is where I got this information on him. Not sure where he practiced each profession, but it was FL, GA, or SC. I lost him on the 1850 census, so I am trying other means to find him. Church records say he "successfully practiced before the bar for years." "He also practiced as a physician successfully." Is there any source for these professions that far back. I saw one site that only went to 1890. Too late for him. Do any colleges keep records that far back? I know he attended Cokesbury College in Abbeville, SC, at one time. Their records are no more. I have his ancestors way back, but I am trying to find more about him. He sounds very interesting. His name was Rev./ Dr. William E. Collier, b. north GA, died Fort Myers, FL. Thanks for any help.
