I would like to know if anyone can assist me in finding out if The Key- McCabe Funeral home in Jacksonville is still in business or if they were merged or bought by another company. Thanks Joseph B Grant

This is not for certain since I'm relying on memory, but I seem to recall that the funeral home we used for my father in 1986 was Key-McCabe. If I'm not mistaken, the funeral home in that building is now George Hewell & Son. If so, they may have the records. There is probably more than one, but address I'm referring to is at 4140 on University Blvd. S., Zip 32216-4373, phone: 904 737-4855. (Here again and this goes way back, before THAT it could have been Seashole Funeral Home.) The 2006 Jacksonville telephone directory listing for Key-McCabe states to see George H Hewell and Son. Their listings are: 4747 Main St. 904-355-9545 4140 S.
