Joseph, From a web search: George H. Hewell Sr began his career in funeral services in 1934. He was 19 when he moved to Jacksonville looking for work. He eventually ended up at the Key-McCabe funeral home downtown on Church Street, making $8 a week. In 1945, he bought the business from the McCabes, and it later moved to Main Street.
