Where is this film kept? kathy thompson Kjt54@aol.com
Kathy: Both the 1935 and 1945 census can be found at many libraries throughout Florida. From memory, the following libraries own the microfilm: Florida State Archives Jacksonville Public Library John F. Germany Public Library - Tampa Indian River County Main Library Vero Beach Miami-Dade Public Library Orlando Public Library P. K. Yonge Library of Florida History - Gainesville University of West Florida - Pensacola I think this would be a good project for the Florida State Genealogical Society to put on their web site the locations of the 1935 and 1945 census. There are several census web sites that tell you which census have been transcribed by state and county. http://www.census-online.com/links/ http://censuslinks.com/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~census/ In addition, the Florida GenWeb has some of the transcribed census in their archives. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/fl/flfiles.htm Can anyone else on this list tell us if your library has this census? Unfortunately, WorldCat and other library catalogs do not reflect the true status of the census locations due to the fact that many libraries have not cataloged them. You need to call the library to find out. Pam Pamela J.
