Hello, Am looking for any connections to my Family name of RENNEY. They originally were RENNIE, in the Kinnell, Angus area of Scotland, but moved into County Durham N.E. England in the early 1700s and became RENNEY. RENNEY is said to be the English spelling of the name. Andrew RENNIE, born 1698, at Kinnell Angus,Scotland, moved to Gateshead, County Durham, England, as a teenager, where he changed his name to RENNEY and married a local girl, Elizabeth HILLS, in 1716. That was the start of my immediate family, they were my 7X Grandparents, although the family has grown over the years and some have emigrated to other countries , the main family remains at County Durham, England today.
