"Go, Noles?" Sue Ann, my dear, we Gators are ALWAYS happy to tell the "noles" where they can go! I've just returned from a foray into enemy territory, and while I was at the state archives I checked the photographic collection. Found montage photos of the members of the Florida House of Representatives for 1907 and 1909, with James Ernest Calkins in both. In 1907, lots of hair; 1909, less hair. Found him in similar pieces when Senate president-pro-tempore in 1915 (much less hair) and as member in 1921 (still less hair). Made paper copies; will send with obit next week if you want them. Archives can supply photographic copies if you want them after you see the paper copies. Who was J.E. Calkins to you, anyway? Have a shot at some brief bios and will be glad to get them if he's your ancestor rather than a collateral. Let me know if you're interested. (Same cost: help somebody else....)
