Bill, I don't have local access to the 1880 Hernando, but have you tried the 1880 Soundex index to families with children below age 10? If there were other siblings, it might spot them for you more quickly. Of course, it's a statewide index and I don't need to tell you that Brown is about our fourth-most-common US surname. There may be a bunch!
