Ann, Rather slim pickings, I'm afraid. There is a "Gay, -- - W" in Escambia County (Pensacola area) vol 055 cert. 3004, 1916. [The indexer didn't know the name, initials, or sex of the decedent. I'm not optimistic this is yours.] There is an Andrew J. Gay in Bay County (Panama City area) in 1922 in vol. 150, cert. 3464. [Note: "J."] Escambia and Bay are way west of Jefferson, though that's not necessarily fatal. I saw nothing else that seemed to be of use, and these probably aren't, either. Have you checked directories, deeds, probate indexes, tax rolls, voting records, etc., to try to get closer to the death date?
