Have you ever had a genealogy snailmail letter returned? I have and with the price of postage, it's annoying when the postmas doesn't even check off whether the person has moved, or whatever... This is another approach to determine what happened to the person you were writing. Try contacting their neighbors and asking about them. Use this idea... You can even check out your own neighborhood. Another one... When you do a telephone search on the Internet and just put in someone's street name and city and town--don't put in any kind of name, you can see who all the neighbors are that have a "listed" phone. My son has just moved to Duluth, Georgia and I decided to see who lived in his neighborhood--in case I ever needed to call anyone and low and behold, I got the whole neighborhood. Some people aren't listed because they have "unlisted" telephone numbers.
