While I do not think there is a connection in this case unfortunately as the eldest daughter would only been 8 years old in 1952, I will follow-up, as I am having no luck with all the other avenues I have followed. I believe also that my Smither family originated in New York It may be that there is a remote family connection that I am unaware of.
