    1. Plant City In Vintage Postcards
    2. June 8, 2005 PRESS RELEASE: Plant City, Florida, an ever growing small town of Central Florida’s Interstate 4 corridor, is rich in local history. Incorporated as a town in 1885, Plant City’s well-documented history includes three historic districts and five individual historic sites listed on the local and National Register of Historic Sites. While it is said, “that a picture is worth a thousand words,” postcards can relate the pictorial history of your life, from generations past to present. Plant City in Vintage Postcards includes more than 150 postcards from the collection of The Quintilla Geer Bruton Archives Center of the East Hillsborough Historical Society. Postcards of different eras and types include those of the businesses, churches, homes, people and schools which tell the story of Plant City and its growth and development. The postcards of hotels, motels, cabins and tourist homes tell the stories of where residents and visitors stayed while enjoying their stay in Plant City. The Quintilla Geer Bruton Archives Center is the genealogy and family history library of The East Hillsborough Historical Society, a nonprofit organization formed in 1974. Located in the historic 1914 Plant City High School, the Society and its entities are dedicated to the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Plant City and eastern Hillsborough County. Plant City in Vintage Postcards is a 128 page soft cover book. Copies are available at $22.90 each including tax, postage and handling.
