    3. The Florida State Historical Society Celebrates 150 YEARS! Quoted from The Society Report, Fall 2005 by the Executive Director Nick Wynne.: “As part of the celebration of its sesquicentennial, the Society is seeking descendants of the original founders to invite to the 2006 Annual Meeting, May 24-27, 2006, at the Registry Resort in North Naples.” This group of men represented the most prestigious and influential men in the state. Former governors, soon-to-be governors, senators and representatives, judges and ministers, planters and merchants, military leaders and doctors---they all came together because they valued Florida’s history and heritage.
