Donna Moughty, the featured speaker, is a well known genealogical instructor and lecturer and will present four exciting lectures you will not want to miss. In addition to the featured speaker, we will have Pamela J. Cooper, Amy Larner Giroux, CGSM, CGLSM, Ann Mohr Osisek, Gladys Friedman Paulin, CGRSSM, Deanna D. Ramsey, William Zehner, CGSM, and James McSweeney (NARA SE Region Archives). You will have the opportunity to participate in lectures covering Censuses, Military, Methodology, National Archives, Naturalization, Land Records, Organization, Cemetery Records and Computer/Technology. We are also pleased to announce that Dean DeBolt, noted Lecturer, historian, and author, will be the Banquet Speaker. A block of rooms is being held for FSGS until October 18th at a special room rate ($89.00 + taxes for up to two people to a room). FSGS Conference Transportation - Central Florida Genealogical Society is gathering names of people who want to travel to the conference on a large coach bus. It is a 6 1/2 hour drive to Panama City for the conference. The coach will leave Orlando on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. and will leave Panama City at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 13. The cost of the bus per person will be approximately $60, depending on the number of persons. There will be several genealogists from around Central Florida that will be going along on the bus. Special Conference Highlight --- Walking Tour of Historical Downtown Panama City - On Thursday, 10 November 2005, the Bay County Public Library and the Historical Society of Bay County will be offering a free tour for early arrivals. Starting at 1 p.m. at the Bay County Public Library, a one hour walking tour of Downtown Panama City will be conducted by members of the Historical Society. Following the tour at 2:00 p.m., the Bay County Public Library will have three short programs. Linda Pazics Kleback will conduct a tour of the Genealogy Room. Ann Johnson Robbins will discuss Cracker days in Florida and display antiques from her collection. Rebecca Brown Saunders will conduct a tour of the Local History Room. If we have bad weather, the Walking Tour will be cancelled, and the Bay County Public Library tours will start at 1:00 p.m. Maps to the library will be available. And be sure to leave time for research at the Bay County Public Library in Panama City. Their collection is quiet impressive.
