Hello everyone, My G-Grandfather was Washington Hall, (1866-1961) born in Sumter Co. FL and buried in Hendry Co. FL.. He married Mary Elizabeth Davis, (1871-1945) who was born somewhere in FL, and is also buried in Hendry Co. I am trying to locate info on Washington's father. The only lead I have is Washington's death certificate which states that his father was Solomon Hall who was born in GA. I would appreciate any information. Thanks in advance! The book Florida First Families was available directly from the author, Donna Rachel Mills. The last address I had for her is 1732 Ridgedale Dr, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406. Her mother is Elizabeth Shown Mills. Both of their addresses should be available in a current genealogical speakers book. Leslie
This book is listed with Amazon as out of print. However, if you want to place an order, they will try to find a used copy for you & notify you of the cost. The catch is, they want your credit card info up front, although they say there is no obligation. -----Original Message----- From: Edgar Taylor <ertjr@sgi.net> To: FLORIDA-L@rootsweb.com <FLORIDA-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, December 05, 1998 3:55 PM Subject: Re: FLA census >Hi Tom - >Your message >> I found a book at the University of South Florida, "Florida's First >> Families - Translated Abstracts of Pre-1821 Spanish Censuses" by Donna Rachal Mills (Library Code: F/310/M55/1992/v.1). Take a look at these URLs http://www.doh.state.fl.us/planning_eval/vitalstats/bandd.html#deaths or http://www.rootsweb.com/~flsgs/flavital.htm and see if their info can help. I have not looked at them for awhile so I am assuming they are still active and helpful. Ed T of PGH
