    1. Re: Dade County Info, please
    2. I am helping a family historian from England and she is asking how to find a death certificate and probate record for her ancestor, George TROREY (TRORY). He was originally from Canada, but died in 1946 in Miami FL. I have looked on GENWEB for listings for Dade County, but it appears they do not have a mail list, or too much information concerning county records. Would someone be able to send me the addresses that would be useful in trying to order a death certificate and will records? I will be most grateful for any information I can pass on. Thank you in advance...................Patty Patgrant42@aol.com

    2. Mary Ellen Wexler
    3. The West Florida Gen. Soc. Jan newsletter had a tip about railroad maps that bears looking at. The correct URL is http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/gmdhtml/rrhtml/rrhome.html Geography and Map Division, Library of Congress Search by Keyword | Browse by Geographic Location | Subject Index | Creator Index | Title List You can search the site for maps of lots of places. The AL/FL map earliest dat is 1836. >From looking at them it appears that the reason a lot of our folks came into the panhandle between 1830 and 1850 was to be part of the road and railroad building process. 2. William Brown
    3. Most of the following information has been taken from civil war and census records: My GGGrandfather Marion W. Page was born in Randolph Co., Ga, but at some point prior to 1862 he moved to Fl as he enlisted in the 5th Fla Inf (CSA) at Madison, Fl on 3-26-1862. He was married to Mary Thomas, also from Ga. He lost a leg at Antietam and was captured. He was paroled and at hospitalized at Lake City, Fl. He moved to Hernando Co., Fl near Lacoochee and lived there until his death in 1905. He was a Baptist preacher although civil war records list his occupation as blacksmith. His children included George Washington Page, Tilton Page, Lenora PageTom W. Page, John Page and M. Angela Page. M. Angie Page married my GGrandfather William Brown - probably in Hernando Co. Their first child Martin Washington Brown was born in Tiger Bay, Fl. Their other children (most born in Sumter Co., Fl) included Charlie L., J. Archie, Pascal, Mamie, Walter and William Andrew. Marion W.
